Q: What is acupuncture?

A: Acupuncture is a gentle and effective medical treatment with a long history. Tiny sterile single-use needles are placed in specific areas of the body to stimulate the nervous and immune systems to speed up healing, reduce pain and inflammation, improve circulation and promote feelings of relaxation.

Q: Does acupuncture hurt?

A: Acupuncture is on the whole very relaxing. Our patients look forward to their appointments, and often have a nap during their treatment.  Acupuncture is not like getting a shot or a vaccine. There is sometimes sensation, and some folks are more sensitive than others, so we work to stay within your comfort level during each treatment.

 

Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: The number of treatments you will need depends on the severity and complexity of your complaint, how long you have been experiencing symptoms, and your age.  Many conditions resolve in 8-10 treatments, with more chronic conditions requiring 20 or more visits. We will discuss your treatment plan and what to expect based on your individual needs during your initial consultation.

Billing

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: Insurance plans offer different levels of coverage for acupuncture. We do not file your insurance, but we are happy to provide you with a document, called a Super Bill, that has the diagnosis and treatment codes required by your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Q: Do you accept FSA/HSA?

A: Yes.

Q: What are your prices?

A: During your new patient consultation, we discuss treatment plan recommendations and pricing. Our new patient consultation fee is $40.  To book online 

Q: Do Veterans receive free acupuncture?

A: Yes, as a Community Care Provider for the VA, we receive referrals from VA providers that allow us to provide acupuncture for conditions including low back pain, knee pain, neck pain, neuropathy, migraines, PTSD, and more.  To learn more, visit https://www.va.gov/WHOLEHEALTH/docs/AcupunctureFactSheet_508.pdf
